When you ask a religious Jewish old man what Jerusalem means to him, you might hear the words from a song of ascents Of David (Psalm 122, 1-3) , which describes the 2000 years of desire to go back to Jerusalem where the "upper" and "lower" cities where united together:
I rejoiced with those who said to me,
“Let us go to the house of the Lord.
Our feet are standing
in your gates, Jerusalem."
Israel is very attractive country to travel in. The size of our country allows you to travel from Jerusalem or Tel-Aviv to the far north or far south of Israel in one day. It provides the opportunity to travel the Negev or the Judah deserts in the south as well as the Galilee forests in the north. These parts of the country are full of historical, ethnic and religious points of interest. You are welcome to join me in order to see, touch and feel the nature and history of the country.
Hiking in Israel is unique. The changing landscapes, seasons, and views of the local flora and fauna can be viewed in a global context. However, the rewards of walking the length and breadth of the 'promised land' are all this and more.
Along the mountains and deserts of Israel, wherever you walk, a rich tableau of human history has proceded you.
